Hi there, nice to meet you all.
I commonly go by the handle of Thia, mainly because I like the sound of it! :D as for reading and writing I generally read whatever takes my fancy, and that comes in a huge variety. Horror, fantasy, gothic, sci fi. Any kind of fiction going that whets my whistle. Of late ive been largely into indie writers. I’ve found that a lot of the original content to be found lately has been with indie writers, and some of my favourite authors now have started out that way. As for writing, its been hit and miss and I’m not sure where you’d put me genre wise. I kind of just write what comes to me, though that hasn’t been an issue because no one has ever seen my work.
That is something I’m (gulp) intending to change here (bigger gulp)
Uhm goals…think I just covered that :) as for tea or coffee on an island…I’d have to go for coffee…you can always make a potential herbal tea from plants there but there sure ain’t gonna be any available coffee plants and a girl needs her caffiene fix!
Laters yawl, gonna go rest and buck up the courage to take that step and start putting my work online! Wing me some courage :S

Thia.

* Your preferred handle (whether it be unique and shiny to this forum or your internet one)

I’d say shorten the gosh awful moniker I chose to write under however you feel like. ;) I intended it to be in character for my story. Sort of the magical equivalent of “Helpdesk” or “PC Support” but it doesn’t lend itself to easy typing, does it?

* What do you like to read or write?

Science fiction and Fantasy. Like some of the others have mentioned, I think publishing is really being shaken up by the erosion of the big houses and we’re getting some really creative work out of people who are basically self-publishing or going through some sort of micro-mini publisher. We’re also getting some really terrible work out of those guys. I read TONS of sample chapters. Heh

* Your goals as you come check out StarterSerials.

As I mentioned, I’m writing one of the serials here, “The Beginners Guide to Magical Site Licensing”. (Which is *another* mouthful, I might have a problem.) I’m hoping to pick up a regular reader or two, because it really encourages me to continue writing. It’s also great to have people pointing out my grammatical errors. They are legion.

I drink them both by the gallon.

* Your preferred handle ………..Lisa
* What do you like to read or write?………….. I like to read everything I can get my hands on, but I write Science Fiction.
* Your goals………..I’ve always been intrigued by the idea of writing a serial and after joining the Pen and Cape Society, and hearing more about the process there, I thought I would jump in the pool.
* You are about to be stranded on a desert island . Do you choose Coffee or tea?……………Going to have to go with tea for the added vitamin C. No stranded pirate wants scurvy.

Hello all! I tend to go by Tetragrammatom on the internet. I have mostly tended to read sf/fantasy or non-fiction, and my writing tends to drift in that direction as well. I joined this site partially to start reading more serials, but also to hopefully learn a bit more about the process before I begin releasing one that I have been working on with a neighbor. If I was stranded on an island i would probably have to go with yerba mate tea, but if that isn’t an option coffee would probably win.

Howdy all! My name Sebastian and I don’t, unfortunately, have a cool Internet handle. One of my nicknames is Brutus, so you could call me that (and yes there is a story behind that name, and yes, if you know your history you might know surmise how I earned it). I read like I eat; voraciously, and in a way that frightens the elderly. Sci-fi, Ya, Erotica, Thrillers, Fantasy, Romance, Mystery, Historical– you name it and odds are that I have read it. This has sometime led me down strange paths (remind me tell you the story of the homoerotic My Little Pony fanfic).

I will be writing a serial called Fallowfell. My goal is to write a serial, patch it up, get a nice cover and then ultimately publish it. I will of course make many mistakes, but it’s time to take the training wheels off and try to write something that could actually be sold for actual money.

I think we live in exciting times. Johannes Gutenberg invented the printing press five centuries ago, and since then the publishing industry has remained mainly static. Not so much anymore; indie-publishing, serials and many other things has shaken up the publishing scene, and when the dust clears we’ll see who has won, and more important, who has lost.

I would never get stranded on a island, but if would, I’d grab some Grey Earl. If one must starve to death, one should do so in a proper fashion. Besides, I refuse to drink that muddy swamp-water that some refer to as “coffee”.

Hello there, I’m Scintor!
I started reading web serials a few months ago and follow quite a number of them here on starter serials. This finally convinced me to start publishing my own web serial over at:
https://tautianinvasion.wordpress.com/2015/01/10/prologue-1/
I asked Landon Porter for tips on getting a web serial together and he suggested the forums here.
I tend to write hard science fiction and and have done technology editing before. I don’t know what this sites policy on publishing stories that are published elsewhere, so I haven’t submitted them here.
I love many of the stories on this site and follow them avidly.

I don’t drink coffee so I would have to go with tea.

Scincerely, Scintor.

I made a mirror for mine and no one yelled a me, so I don’t think they care.

Hello there, I’m new here(obviously)
I usually go by handle HiDrangeA simply because that name hasn’t been taken on the websites I go to.
I like to right and read a myriad of genres but if I had to choose one it’d probably be Fantasy.
I don’t really have any goals for my serial, I simply just want to write them for the sake of writing them. If people can enjoy reading them then that’s much better. If people don’t, well I’ll still write.
Tea or Coffee? I’d go with coffee and hope the caffeine fries my brain before the loneliness. 🙂

Hola all. Just dropping by to say hi. I’m starting a serial, Birth of a Hero. Trying to jump start my writing career.
I have Two short stories that have been published, but I never heard anything back, and didn’t get any feedback. I figured this might be a way to generate some views and gather some followers.
Please feel free to critique. I’m q uite sure I’ll need some help on refining my craft. (/grin)
