Summary:

A Symphony of Synchronicity is a contemporary fantasy series comprised of an ever-expanding number of books. Each volume is a stand-alone experience, but unlike true stand-alone novels, there is cross-over between the titles. The concept of the series plays off that of synchronicity (the simultaneous occurrence of events that appear significantly related, but have no discernible causal connection), where characters from one story unwittingly cross paths with the characters of another. These key “jump-off points” are littered throughout the books, and I invite readers to keep an eye out for them. You never know when you might meet the hero of the next story, or the villain. 😉

Book 1: Unmoving (Contemporary Fantasy blended with elements of Magic Realism, Mystery, and Fairy Tale)

Unmoving by Kisa Whipkey

After losing the woman he loved in a horrific accident, Derek Richards renounced his humanity. Like flipping a switch, he turned off all non-cynical emotions and closed himself off from the world. But now, three years after that fateful night, his callous disregard has caught up to him, and a chance encounter with a homeless woman leaves him entangled in a confrontation where money isn’t the only change at stake.

Literally turned to stone on a park bench in Portland, OR., he’s forced to relive all his bad decisions — every selfish, incorrect choice he’s ever made — and re-evaluate his life. If he can’t find a way to redeem himself, he’ll spend eternity as a statue. And after what he’s done, maybe he deserves it. But who gets decide which choice is right, and which is wrong? And where can he find redemption, if he can’t even play the game?

Dark-witted and snarky, Unmoving is a multi-layered, complicated narrative that looks at the foundation of human nature and the unintentional consequences of our actions.

Future volumes will be added as they become available, so be sure to check back periodically. Though the series will be richer if you read them all, each book is capable of being read alone. So if the contemporary fantasy of Unmoving isn’t quite your thing, perhaps one of the others will be. The series as a whole spans genres ranging from horror to mystery to police procedural and everywhere in between. The base genre is always fantasy, but the particular genre cocktail beyond that varies with each book.

Thank you for taking the time to read my work. I hope you enjoy it! Feedback is always welcome, and if you’d like to learn more about Unmoving, myself, or any of my other works, please visit my website. 🙂
